From the Classroom to the Computer Screen: Delivering a Traditional University Course in a Non-traditional Way

The rapid expansion of the Internet has finally brought a wider availability of large bandwidth connections reaching the homes. This means that the content that can be delivered through the Internet is dramatically changing. We run the experiment of web-casting, ondemand delivering and producing CD’s of a whole university course. We based our experiment on the use of software developed at the University of Toronto: ePresence. We evaluated the acceptance by the students and the costs of the system. Results show excellent impact on students and low production costs.
